US Open Finalist Amanda Anisimova Let’s move on to his second WTA 1000 final of the year, upgraded the defending champion Coco Gauff 6-1 6-2 in the semi-finals of China Open.
Sowing third in Beijing, Anisimova continued its stellar season, which includes the finalists in Wimbledon and the US Open. The victory also gave the 24-year-old American an advantage of 2-1 in his head-to-face record against compatriot GAUFF.
Anisimova has grown to an advantage of 5-0 in the opening set before the second seeded Gauff climbed the table to do it 5-1.
The second set took place in a similar way, Anisimova by building an advance of 5-0. Although Gauff retaliated to win the following two games, Anisimova sealed the victory in just 58 minutes.
“I was just excited to play here during my first semi-final. I was able to do a very good performance and I knew that I was going to have to play very well against Coco if I wanted to get the victory. I am really excited to be in the final,” said Anisimova.
“I say every time I walked on the field and I won my match that I like to play here and the support of the crowd was so incredible since the first day I arrived here. I really think it allowed me to do all throughout this tournament.
“I hope everyone can go out and support me in the final.”
The next step for the world number four is either the fifth American seeded Jessica Pegula, or the 26th Czech seeded Linda Noskova, who plays in the semi-finals later on Saturday.
