Ann Taylor Loft and Hot Topics Open Doors to Des Moines Outlets

The first Ann Taylor factory in Iowa opened at the Des Moines Factory Outlets.

Two more stores have opened at the Outlets of Des Moines as the shopping season approaches. Altoona’s open-air shopping center offers more than 60 discount stores and restaurants.

Here’s an overview of what’s new.

Discover the new women’s clothing and accessories store

Iowa now has its first Ann Taylor outlet store. Shoppers can find everything from dresses and suits to separates and casual wear in regular and petite sizes. The 4,000 square foot store also offers accessories and shoes. Find it in Suite 580.

The closest Anne Taylor the store is in the RegencyOmaha’s upscale shopping center.

New pop culture store opens

Specialty retailer Hot topic opened a 2,503 square foot store filled with music, entertainment and pop culture products. Shoppers will find a wide selection of band-related clothing and accessories, licensed merchandise as well as fashion clothing and accessories.

Hot Topic began in 1989 and now has more than 630 stores in the United States and Canada, as well as an online store at HotTopic.com. Find it in suite 905.

Hot Topic also has locations at Merle Hay Shopping Center And Downtown Jordan Creek.

What else recently opened in Des Moines stores?

Rally House has opened its doors at the Des Moines Outlets.  The store offering licensed professional and college gear now has six locations in Iowa.

Rally House: The sports specialty store now has four locations in metro Des Moines and two more in Ames and Coralville. Rally house, which just opened, offers clothing, gifts, home decor and other merchandise while representing local NCAA, NFL, NBA, MLB and MLS teams. The 3,995 square foot store occupies suite 620 in the center.

Fernando’s + Quick Bites: A list of burritos is coming to Des Moines stores with the September opening of Fernando’s + Fast Bites, a new food pavilion that brings together local restaurants Fernando’s Mexican Grill and quick bites. On the Fast Bites side of Suite 670, you’ll find American fare, while the Fernando’s Mexican Grill side serves freshly made tortillas and burritos, stuffed with the guest’s choice.

What has already opened in 2023?

Cole Haan now has a store at the Outlets of Des Moines.

Spencer’s: The home of trendy and fashionable products opened in June in a 2,595 square foot space. Spencer offers t-shirts, body jewelry, home decor and much more.

Cole Haan Store: A new 3,000 square feet Cole Haan Store which opened in May offers men’s and women’s casual clothing and shoes, belts, bottoms, handbags, gloves, scarves, hats, outerwear and sunglasses. The store takes over Espace 705.

Merrell:Merrell offers shoes ranging from hiking, trail running and boots to slip-ons, sandals and flip-flops. The 2,807 square foot store occupies space 585 of the outdoor mall.
