Random Ramsdom: Would they be interested in this backup?

I’m not buying the link below because the headline is pretty wild saying Malik Willis will get a $71 million contract, but also because I don’t think the Rams would be interested in Malik Willis, but I do think Willis will get a deal.

Maybe the Rams would be interested in having him as a backup, he would give a mobile advantage that most quarterbacks don’t have. It’s interesting. Tis the season for speculation.

A $71 million contract is talked about in this headline below, I don’t know all that, but I think Willis might get a chance to start with a much more manageable contract. Another offseason of opportunities for players like Willis to get the chance to shine.

Happy Thursday, thanks for checking out Turf Show Times and it’s almost Friday!

“THE Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh SteelersAnd Indianapolis Colts will be on the market for quarterbacks this offseason and may be interested in a pending free agent signal-caller Green Bay Packers.

Malik Willis should be a hot commodity on the market after showing great promise with Green Bay over the past two seasons, and Wendell Ferreira from A to Z Sports thinks the Vikings, Rams, Steelers and Colts are possible landing spots for the 26-year-old.

“So what does the team have planned for its young NFL stars? If you can take head coach Sean McVay literally, they are all in line to get extensions. This is very exciting news for fans who love the production of wide receiver Puka Nacua, edge rusher Byron Young, defensive lineman Kobie Turner and interior offensive lineman Steve Avila.

But it’s also news that 31 other NFL general managers hate to hear.

No, it won’t be easy. The team will have to be very creative to keep all four players under the NFL salary cap for 2026, while leaving room to add additional key players via other extensions, free agency and the draft. But where there is a will, there is a way. And fans can at least rejoice in the news that the team will attempt to get all four back for 2027.”

“Los Angeles Rams general manager Les Snead talks about his experience working alongside head coach Sean McVay, the impact of the 2023 NFL Draft class and his outlook on building the 2026 roster with two first-round picks.”

“Recruit a guy who’s a real threat to return kicks like the one Seattle traded midseason, if there’s one available. Whittington was fine and Smith was fine until the last game, but they don’t scare opposing teams.

And Mevis did a good job stepping in, but remember he missed that kick with two minutes against Seattle…if the Rams won that game, I think they would have hosted the Squaks the other way instead. What I’m saying, draft or bring another kicker to camp and make a three-man line with that person, Mevis and Kardy. Competition doesn’t hurt anyone. -LaRams and NyMets
