(Golf Topic) PGA Tour "Input increased from 120 to 144"

(Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae) ○… “120 players → 144 players. »

The Professional Golfers Association of America (PGA) Tour has expanded the entry list for players due to the inability to hold tournaments caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). On the 1st (Korean time), Golf Channel reported: “The PGA Tour sent a note to players stating that when the season resumes, the number of tournament participants will be increased to ensure as many opportunities as possible.” Due to the declaration of emergency following the spread of COVID-19, 11 tournaments of the 2019/2020 season were canceled or postponed.

As a result, lower-ranked players and caddies face difficulties in earning a living. The Charles Schwab Challenge, scheduled for May 21 at Colonial Golf Course in Fort Worth, Texas, and the Memorial Tournament, scheduled for June 4 at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio, will increase the number of participants from 120 to 144. Additionally, the number of participants in other tournaments will be increased as much as possible to provide opportunities for players who have not been able to participate in tournaments to date.
