When WYC GROUSBECK and his family announced their intention to sell their majority participation in the Celtics, speculation quickly followed the future house for the franchise.
Fortunately, for fans of the Celtics who want their team to remain in their historic place, their new owner feels the same thing.
Bill Chisholm, from Massachusetts, clearly indicated during his first press conference as the Celtics main governor whom he wanted to keep his newly acquired franchise for the sacred reasons where they won 18 championships. He even explained the importance of sharing equipment with Bruins, whose property has been operating the garden since the 1970s.
“I don’t have a specific point of view on this subject,” said Chisholm During his press conference. “I have a kind of philosophical perspective on this subject. So the first thing is that I really like Boston’s garden. Personally, I think the team and the players – more importantly, the team and the players – really like the Boston garden, and even just as important, fans like the Boston garden. So it’s a starting point.
But the third thing is that we are 100% committed to creating the best fans experience possible, and we will examine and determine where it is. But we have a good thing right now.
The lost money has historically haunted ownership groups of the previous Celtics. They rent a TD garden through the parent company of Bruins Delaware North and collect little direct income from the place. This landed mainly in the pockets of the Jacobs family.
With a multitude of new monetary punishment for the NBA teams who spend above the luxury tax in consecutive seasons, the maximization of their financial gains has become even more important.

Another attractive factor for the construction of a new arena could be to bring in Boston a WNBA team. The WNBA season occurs during the dead of the NBA and the NHL, serving as a perfect method to fill the arena without many contradictory dates.
But the WNBA hesitated to move the sun, wanting to have an extension team in Boston rather than a relocation, according to the globe. No group based in Boston asked for its expansion rights during the most recent discussions with WNBA.
Many logistical challenges pretend Boston to receive his first WNBA team. But for fans who would like to see the dream become a reality, they must trust a lot in the vision of Chisholm.
At the start of his mandate, it seems that Chisholm wants the same result.
“First of all, I think Boston should have a team,” said Chisholm. “I mean, it is, as I said earlier, the best sports city in the country, and it is the cradle of basketball, so we should have a team.
“We have been on the seat since then, you know, about a month. This is certainly something we are going to look at. And I know that the NBA has a process that we will do what we can to accelerate things, but there is a process there. But philosophically, it makes so much meaning. “
