College Football ’25 was the first university football match in 11 years from EA, the predecessor being College Football ’14, released in 2013. Released on July 19, 2024, College Football ’25 has become one Most profitable games in history.
Having 2.8 million players in total, 2.2 million of these players being early access. The players excited for the game paid $ 100 for early access and also had the opportunity to pay $ 150 to bring together the luxury versions of College Football ’25 and Madden NFL 25. Similar to what players can do for university football ’26.
University football is known as a franchise to have music traditionally recorded by EA themselves, while they also ask for music and songs of the colleges and universities of the game to be implemented when they play in certain stadiums. By playing Jordan-Hare Stadium, players should expect to hear “Swag Surfin” in university football ’26.
As for ensuring that AUMB records the theme of College Football ’26, the producer of functionalities EA, Torsten Staley expressed the excitement that was entered into the collaboration.
“From the first day, they were great with us and as soon as we started the recording process (the same thing), they were above,” said Staley.
Staley also gave an overview of the development of the musical catalog for the full game. Explaining that there are more than 90 new musical pieces and understanding the collection of the tracks of the game. Staley explained that he and his team will ask for track lists and songs of the games to use when they play in their stadium.
However, when it comes to developing the theme of the game, Staley and his team met with a difficult decision.
“We have kept an eye on different ideas (…) One of the things that came to our radar fairly quickly was the Metallica fanfare competition. Obviously, it is a very well -known group, so we were like” it could be interesting “,” said Staley. “We watched the Metallica show that Auburn had made, and we realized that we would like to promote the winner of the competition (who was Auburn).”
In 2023, Aumb won the Metallica fanfare competition, with their program, “for whom the Bell Tolls”. This victory collected them distinctionAnd they still revel today.

The development of the theme began at the end of November 2024, with recording sessions during the first week of December 2024, the last weeks of students. The major of the Ross Tolbert drum gave a student perspective to registration with EA.
“(β¦) It was a bit strange when we started to record it and work there. It was the end of our season, it is generally when we do nothing, it was strange but fun to start something new when the semester ended,” said Tolbert.
Tolbert explained that the timing was difficult for many students from the group, because it was the weekend finals and that Aul has a diverse set of students with majors of different rigor. However, they recorded the last day of class, it was still difficult because the students were “exhausted”. Tolbert also explained that during this semester point, most groups and teams in the SEC and other conferences would generally be given a break until the start of the playoffs.
Tolbert expressed his gratitude for the directors of Aumb Corey Spurlin and Nikki Gross for having presented the group the opportunity to be the first brass band to record the theme of EA university football.
“I think it speaks a lot about a lot of things in our organization. First and foremost the leadership we have with our two directors, Dr. Spurlin and Dr Gross. Without them, we would not be close to the successions that we have had in recent years,” said Tolbert. βThat said a lot that EA specifically chose us to do it from all the other brass bands in the world. It is purely because we have so many wonderfully talented musicians in our set of 380 people each year. β
