The Orlando Magic ended a sequence of six -game home defeats by inflicting a third consecutive defeat on the Los Angeles Lakers.
Luka Doncic scored 32 points and LeBron James added 24 and eight assists for the Lakers, who led 60-58 at halftime.
However, Orlando outlined visitors 34-18 in the third quarter and won a 118-106 victory.
Franz Wagner contributed 32 points and nine assists for magic, while Paolo Banchero added 30 points and seven rebounds.
“We look tired,” said Lakers coach JJ Redick. “I don’t know what contributes to that. We could not maintain the level of intensity with which we started the game.”
The Lakers, who have lost seven of their last 10 games, are fourth in the West Conference with 11 games in the regular season. The first eight qualifies for the playoffs and they have eight more victories than the ninth kings of Sacramento.
The Magic occupies the eighth place in the Eastern Conference and there are 10 games.
Elsewhere on Monday, in a match with two teams that are not likely to make the playoffs, the Dallas Mavericks welcomed Anthony Davis back from an injury during a 120-101 victory against the Brooklyn Nets.
Davis scored 12 points in 26 minutes when he returned from six weeks with an injury to kidnapping – suffered in his first match for Dallas after his Lakers job in exchange for Donic.
