Friday, Daniil Medvedev crashed outside the Miami open in the second round after having undergone a defeat 6-2, 6-3 against Jaume Munar, 56th classified Spanish.

Medvedev, the winner of 2023 in Miami, showed his frustration, launching his racket several times while the 27 -year -old Marsorca player won his third career victory against an opponent of the Top 10.

The Russian made 32 unlocked mistakes and although he has given himself a chance to return to the last match, he could not convert to two break points.

Karen Khachanov made sure that Nick Kyrgios’ return path was interrupted with a 7-6 victory (7/3), 6-0.

Australian Kyrgios, who had struggled since the wrist surgery, beat Mackenzie McDonald in the first round to win his first victory at the tour of the tour since October 2022 but could not overcome Khachanv, who reached the semi-finals in Miami in 2023.

In the female draw, the world number two, Iga Swiatek, advanced the third round after surviving a second dive to beat Caroline Garcia 6-2, 7-2.

Swiatek had beaten Garcia with ease at the same stadium at Indian Wells earlier this month, but she faced a little more resistance to hard rock stadium.

Swiatek was 3-1 in the second set and had to save a section point when he was used at 5-4 before rallying to win the last three games.

“My energy level fell very quickly. So I tried to wake up, keep the intensity of the first set, follow and go,” said Swiatek.

Swiatek lost Mirra Andreeva against Indian Wells, the 17-year-old Russia who won the title, against Mirra Andreeva.

Andreeva is in action later Friday when she faces her compatriot-Russian Veronika Kudermetova.

In the male draw, Novak Djokovic, fourth, faces the Australian Rinky Hijikata while Carlos Alcaraz, second seeded, launched his candidacy against Belgian David Goffin.
