• Frederick Carl Schwerer III82-year-old Palo Alto resident and Pennsylvania native who worked as a research scientist at the US Steel Research Center, Unconventional Energy Group, Alcoa Research Laboratory and RJ Lee Group and whose passions included woodworking, caving, cultural festivals , bridge and college sports. October 24.
• Susan Joan Barnhill Moore71, a 40-year Palo Alto resident and proud flower child — “not a hippie” — who survived a serious car accident when her children were young, worked as an activities coordinator at College Convalescent Hospital Park in Menlo Park, who loved to dance and whose many hobbies included making handmade November 1 greeting cards.
• Charles William Bradley86-year-old tennis enthusiast and former Palo Alto resident who worked in sales and consulting in the computer industry, is the author of the 1985 book “The Manager’s Guide to Small Business Computers” and has actively encouraged his children’s interest in science and technology, in November .4.
