You may remember last year that the mothers had a moment at the BNP Paribas open when several mothers played in tennis advanced deeply in the draw.

But mothers are so last year. This year, the first yields show that 2025 in Indian Wells is for adolescents.

First, he was the 18 -year -old Brazilian joker, Joao Fonseca, capturing the attention of the crowd of Stade 1 with a victory against Jacob Fearnley on Thursday.

On Friday, one of the rising stars on the female side, Mirra Andreeva, 17, obtained her open BNP Paribas, gathering 4-0 in the second set for a 7-5, 6-4 victory against Varvara Gacheva to enter the third round.

Also Friday, the American joker Iva Jovic, a 17 -year -old from South California, won his opening match held Thursday evening because of the rain. After dividing the first two sets, she has approved Julia Grabher in the final set for a 2-6, 7-5, 6-0 victory.

What is great for tennis fans about the three talented teenagers is that they play with a flair and a frantic joy that allows you to know that they have fun. It’s pleasant to see and it’s exciting to look at.

Fonseca was compared to a young Rafael Nadal. Andreeva already has a Masters 1000 victory. And Jovic has become the youngest player to win a match at the US Open since 2000 when she won a first round match in 2024. She also won a match in Australia in January.

Thus, while 2024 was for mothers, 2025 is for adolescents. Who knows, if one of them starts, they could sip champagne to celebrate the championship on Sunday. In fact, it is better to make this jack of their juice box in the celebration of the championship on Sunday.
