NHL Trade Discussion and Full Detroit Penguins Breakdown

The Pittsburgh Penguins once again looked like world beaters, zombies and world beaters, but it was the zombified second period that cost them dearly in a 6-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings. The Penguins roster exists in the form of two teams in the same locker room. Detroit’s postgame bulletin delves deeper into this topic. National Hockey Now has picked up the “Off the Record” column, in which NHL executives, scouts and insiders talked about the latest NHL trade rumors and even offered some colorful opinions on recent moves. Also in the Daily, the Ottawa Senators received a big boost with the return of Josh Norris, who spent a year recovering from shoulder surgery, and Rick Tocchet gives his team some tough love Vancouver Canucks.

My time in Detroit ends as soon as I publish on the Daily. I remain somewhat confused by this city. Its recent history is terrible, but it appears to have been largely cleaned up, and yet…no one is there. Last night I walked almost a mile downtown from the arena to my hotel. I didn’t meet another soul. Rush hour traffic is 65 mph. The streets are well paved and almost empty.

I’ll be back to try some of the interesting little restaurants that I didn’t get a chance to visit and spend some time at the Shinola watch factory (I love watches, and Shinola is starting to improve their designs from giant 47 mm pizza pans with more interesting looks). But what happens if you build a city and no one shows up?

Additionally, the Red Wings game experience is heavily focused on country music. WHAT IS ?! It’s Motown! Eight Mile is here. However, they rely on the country. What did I miss? Come on, some Four Tops, Supremes, Temptations, Martha and the Vandellas. Let’s go!

Pittsburgh Penguins:

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: A 6-3 loss to the playoff contender Detroit Red Wings. The Dave Molinari Penguins postgame.

The Penguins certainly feel the urgency. This comeback attempt in the third period was proof that the Penguins were not going to turn around this season. Kris Letang described the team’s diminishing chances of winning another Stanley Cup in dramatic terms: “Our runway is getting shorter and shorter. » The main thing is to feel the pressure of time, but also a great opportunity. Enter the Penguin Locker Room.

Detroit Hockey Now: On the other hand, Red Wings Alex DeBrincat is now the NHL’s leading scorer. Not a bad pickup for the Detroit Red Wings.

We also had a lot of PHN+ content.

PHN+: What, am I worried? Dave had a good discussion about his difficulty scoring with the Penguins winger. Rickard Rakell.

PHN+: We also take you into the locker room after the loss with the raw video and quotes from the players and coach Mike Sullivan. Disappointment hung in the air, even though most were encouraged by the third period. I particularly liked Mike Sullivan’s explanation in the Penguins postgame.

We’re going to hockey today since we’re late and on the road (Those stupid 7:30 p.m. games and need to sleep). Go to our Steelers site, SteelersNow.com, for complete coverage and Steelers News. And our Pirates coverage, including the latest Arizona Fall League updates with the Hacker Perspectives.

NHL Trade Talk, News

PHN+: Jimmy Murphy went “Off the Record” with several NHL executives, scouts and hockey insiders. About which team did a general manager say, “What are they (bleep) thinking?!” » There are a few teams chasing goaltenders, including the Los Angeles Kings. Winnipeg Jets Shocks and More NHL trade talk.

I hope you’ll join this band of sports media rebels. I think you can see how hard we are working network-wide. A subscription gives you access to all of Pittsburgh’s sports coverage, plus all of the network’s hockey coverage! Join us here.

TSN: An update from Patrick Kane. The winger awaits discussions with the teams until he is fully recovered.

No, the Penguins can’t be serious bidders unless they give up a significant salary.

Sportsnet Vancouver: Rick Tocchet gives his Canucks some tough love and tries to teach them some lessons.

Ryan Reaves called out Corey Perry: “He kind of acts like a tough guy. It’s not hard,’ said the Maple Leafs enforcer.

Washington Hockey Now: Father Time could have caught up with Alex Ovechkin. In the other NHL game last night, Ovechkin didn’t make a single shot. There are questions about Ovechkin, and the defense is also bad. Ottawa decimated them 6-1. Who takes the Washington Capitals blame?

And Josh Norris made his return. A year after major shoulder surgery, Norris scored two goals and Ottawa breathed easier. Analyst Mike Johnson says there’s no rust on Norris.
