Matt Ryan somehow drops the and-1

Matt Ryan somehow drops the and-1

New Orleans Pelicans Before Matt Ryan scored his 28th triple with the franchise Friday against the Denver Nuggets in the NBA In-Season tournament.

Herbert Jones had the ball in the backcourt before passing it to Ryan on the wing. While attempting to score a three-pointer, Ryan was fouled Julien Strawthersinking the triple in succession.

This created a unique bond between the NBA and the NFL.

In Super Bowl LI, the Atlanta Falcons and former quarterback Matt Ryan had a commanding 28-3 lead late in the third quarter before Tom Brady and the New England Patriots managed to defeat Atlanta 34-28 overtime.

The similarities between Ryan’s 28 three-pointers and the Falcons’ 28-3 lead end with the bottom line: While Atlanta couldn’t hold on, the Pelicans beat the Nuggets. 115-110.

The Pelicans social media account saw it as the perfect opportunity to troll the then-Falcons quarterback.

Unlikely as it may seem, the Matt Ryans of the NBA and NFL now have something in common: 28-3.
