Report: Kings have six players on radar in possible trades originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area

The pressure is strong to the Kings in 12th place as they hope to turn around their 2024-25 NBA season before it’s too late.

A roster upgrade appears necessary at this point in the season, with general manager Monte McNair and Co. specifically considering a boost at backup center and/or the wings, Sam Amick and Anthony Slater of The Athletic, citing team sources.

Six players in particular are on Sacramento’s radar, Amick and Slater added, citing league sources.

These players include Portland Trail Blazers forward Jerami ScholarshipUtah Jazz forward John Collinsand two Washington Wizards teammates, center Jonas Valančiūnas and forward Kyle Kuzma.

Additionally, Brooklyn Nets forwards Cam Johnson And Dorian Finney Smith are generating interest, although Finney-Smith’s interest is “to a lesser extent,” according to Amick and Slater.

Sacramento adding a big-name player such as Zach LaVine or Brandon Ingram, who have been linked in rumors with the Kings and other teams, is “highly unlikely,” according to Amick and Slater, but McNair could still explore all possibilities.

With The future of De’Aaron Fox With Sacramento becoming increasingly uncertain, according to Amick and Slater, if Fox and the Kings part ways, it would make more sense for it to be via trade to avoid him leaving in free agency with nothing in return.

Fox has not requested a trade, but teams are already preparing to be in a position to acquire him, such as San Antonio SpursAmick and Slater reported, citing league sources.

For now, though, the Kings are focused on going with the flow, and it’s only a matter of time before a major change occurs.
