As most of us know, the Oregon Ducks are one of the biggest and most recognizable brands in college football. and with their potential Heisman Trophy candidate, Bo Nix, leading the Pac-12 competition in various statisticsit is very likely that they will be able to compete for a national championship during the current season, but there is something that would improve the program, their potential selections for future opponents.

The Ducks, who are currently one of the best teams in college football, have shown no fear in terms of scheduling major non-conference opponents over the past few years, with various examples being their home and away series against teams like Tennessee, Nebraska, Michigan State and Ohio State (with only the second half of the series played due to the first game being canceled due to the pandemic), as well as kickoff games against LSU , Auburn and Georgia.

As things currently stand, in terms of future timetable, the Ducks have their non-conference schedules set each year between 2024 and 2028 (with a few opponents like Portland State, Hawaii or Utah State scheduled between 2029 and 2031), the most notable future opponents being:

  • Texas Tech (2024)
  • Boise State (2024-26)
  • Oklahoma State (2025-26)
  • Baylor (2027-28)
  • Utah State (2027-29)

Of course, the Ducks will have to do a very tough job figuring out who can fill the holes left by their impending move to the Big Ten, as they had two home-and-home series scheduled against Michigan State (2029-30) and Ohio State . (2032-33) which will be played in conference matches starting next year.

While it could be argued that the Ducks have a very strong non-conference schedule just about every season, there are still some non-conference opponents that Oregon fans would look up to when seeing the Ducks play in some way. ‘another, so today we’ll bring up three future non-conference opponents for the Ducks to consider scheduling in the future, mentioning existing history with the opponent (in case there is any) as well as why it would be an interesting match.
