WELCOME TO MARCH EVERYONE!
There’s more college basketball than you can shake a stick at this month, and we’re starting HOT with 28 games on national television today, including YOUR Marquette men’s basketball team hosting DePaul on FS1. We can admit that this isn’t the national title of the day, because there are 12 games with at least one ranked team in action today, and four of those games are between two ranked teams.

These four games are on the women’s side of the aisle, and unfortunately for you, the television consumer, THREE of them are all at once. No. 4 Texas at No. 24 Alabama, No. 12 Duke at No. 21 North Carolina and No. 13 Ohio State at No. 15 Michigan State all start at 11 a.m. Central Time today. It’s a tough time, to say the least, for the old Previous Channel button on the remote. The other ranked vs. ranked team will take place this afternoon, when No. 18 Baylor (and Marquette graduate/head coach Nicki Collen) visits No. 11 TCU. I think this is your play of the day in terms of team rankings, but I’ll listen to the OSU/MSU arguments.
Elsewhere on the roster, women’s hoops has No. 2 UCLA, No. 5 Vanderbilt, No. 6 LSU and No. 22 Minnesota on the road on national television today. Officially, there’s also No. 1 UConn on the road, but do we really believe St. John’s will have the edge at Madison Square Garden tonight? No, I don’t think so. On the men’s side, No. 8 Purdue and No. 13 Michigan State are on the road against unranked foes in Big Ten play, so that’s interesting, too.
There are still plenty of games — Marquette WBB at Providence! — which are streaming-only, including No. 3 South Carolina and No. 15 Kentucky in women’s basketball and six other ranked women’s teams also taking on an unranked foe. If you catch an exciting show, be sure to shout it out in the comments so everyone can check it out ASAP!
