Tiger Woods and his son Charlie, 15, were tied for the lead after the first day of the PNC Championship in Orlando.
The duo carded a 59 in the first round and are at 13 under with Bernhard Langer and his son Jason Langer as well as Vijay Singh and his son Qass.
The 36-hole exhibition tournament, featuring current and former professional golfers playing with a parent or child, ends Sunday.
15-time major winner Tiger Woods and Charlie are making their fifth appearance at the annual event, which also allows players to use golf carts.
The duo tied for fifth last year after finishing second in 2021.
“It’s a hustle, so we try to make every shot for each other,” Tiger Woods, 48, said.
“I think we did that wonderfully all day. Charlie made most of the putts today.”
Charlie Woods added: “I didn’t do very well, but Dad spared me on a few of them and I rode them.”
Tiger Woods is playing for the first time since July’s Open – where he failed to qualify for the third consecutive major – after undergoing back surgery in September.
‘I’m not competitive right now,’ Woods told the PGA Tour website said Friday. “But I just want to be able to relive that experience.”
Asked about an occasion when he was beaten by Charlie, he added: “Yes, he beat me for nine holes.
“He hasn’t beaten me through 18 holes yet. That day is coming, I’ll prolong it as long as possible.”
