Even though the WTA circuit is firmly in the offseason, Ana Ivanovic is making headlines this Wednesday.
Ivanovic, the former women’s number one tennis world, had an incredible career on the WTA circuit. She has won 15 singles titles, including the 2008 French Open. Unfortunately for the talented Serbian, she was unable to qualify for another Grand Slam final. However, she won the year-end WTA Champions Tournament in 2010 and 2011.

In 2016, Ivanovic announced his retirement from professional tennis. She cited her health as the main reason for her decision.
“To reach these heights in any professional sport requires excellent physical fitness, and it is well known that I have been hampered by injuries,” Ivanovic said. “I can only play if it meets my own standards, and I can’t. All I can say is that I lived my dreams and I really hope to help others do so too.”
Off the pitch, Ivanovic has been with former Bayern Munich star Bastian Schweinsteiger since 2014. They married two years later and have three children together – Luka, Leon and Theo.

Ivanovic has filed for divorce, according to German media BILD. The couple reportedly split in July due to “irreconcilable differences.”

The details surrounding their split aren’t pretty.
According to BILD, there has been an “affair” dating back to 2024. It was reported that Schweinsteiger was caught kissing another woman last June.
“This gave rise to rumors that they had ended their romance, with a breakup all but confirmed a few months later in June when Schweinsteiger was shockingly spotted kissing a new woman in Majorca,” Daily Mail wrote. “Photos and videos shared by BILD appear to show the midfielder relaxing on a beach with a married woman, presumably named Silva, whom he was ‘hugging and kissing’. The mystery woman is believed to be from Bulgaria, where Schweinsteiger resides, and has two sons, who attend the same school as his children.”

So far, neither Ivanovic nor Schweinsteiger have said anything about their divorce.
