NCAA Schedule Update: In the event that both “if necessary” games are needed, they will be played tomorrow instead of today. But if Oklahoma wins and only the “if necessary” Texas-Stanford game is needed, it will be played as originally scheduled tonight. The change comes from today’s weather delay. Tomorrow was originally planned as an off day, with media availability for the bottom two teams.
This is what the new schedule looks like:
Today
- Game 11: Oklahoma-Florida, 2:06 p.m. CT
- Game 13: Texas-Stanford, 6 p.m. CT
- Game 14: Texas-Stanford playoff game (if Oklahoma wins Game 11 and Texas loses Game 13)
Tuesday June 4
- Game 12: Oklahoma-Florida playoff game (if Oklahoma loses Game 11)
- Game 14: Texas-Stanford playoff game (if Oklahoma loses Game 11 and Texas loses Game 13)
The best-of-three championship series begins Wednesday. This change adds pressure for Oklahoma and Texas to advance in a game today. Forcing a playoff game would mean losing an entire day of rest for the championship series. This could be important.
