THE WNBA the issue of charter flights is already a topic of discussion among fans before Caitlin Clark professional debut.

In recent years, WNBA players have complained about being forced to fly for commercial purposes rather than privately, as their male counterparts did.

WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert said the league can’t afford to charter flights, but things could change when she signs a new media rights deal that could bring in more than $100 million. dollars per year.

“It’s impossible for a men’s sport to travel on charter without a huge media rights deal,” she says Englelbert. Later, she adds: “You are not going to jeopardize the financial stability of this league, I tell you. If the players got what they wanted now – look, I want it for them too – but they won’t have a job in three to five years if we do it today.

Before her WNBA preseason debut, Clark was seen walking through Dallas airport security as fans walked alongside her awkwardly filming her.

Fans and media members have lambasted the WNBA over the charter flight issue.

I hope Caitlin Clark pushes the charter issue into the WNBA like Brittney Griner did. This is about player safety and health.

Clark also spoke about the issue earlier this week.

so you can’t use it as an excuse…”
