Despite a disappointing season for the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese achieved another remarkable campaign in 2025 WNBA campaign. Reese averaged 14.7 points and 12.6 rebounds per game, the highest rebounding average in the league. She has recorded 23 double-doubles, tied with Phoenix Mercury forward Alyssa Thomas for the most in 2025.

Reese’s rebounding dominance and overall production earned her a second consecutive WNBA All-Star selection. Her performance in 2025 solidified her status as one of the best frontcourt players in the league as she prepares for her third professional season.

Reese could move into third place in league history for double-double seasons if she continues her productive trajectory.

According to social media account TrendyHoopStars, in the history of women’s basketball, only a small group of elite players have recorded multiple seasons averaging a double-double at the collegiate and WNBA levels. They include three-time WNBA MVP Lisa Leslie, 2021 WNBA MVP Jonquel Jones and Reese herself, a rare distinction that highlights her impact on the game at every level.

Leslie reacted to the possibility of Reese breaking his long-standing marks on X:

“This is exceptional! Records are made to be broken! Go get them @Reese10Angel I will cheer you on💕😘🙏🏾,” the two-time WNBA champion wrote.

Reese joined the group in its second season. She followed a historic rookie campaign in which she averaged 13.6 points and 13.1 rebounds per game, the highest rebounding average in WNBA history for a single season. Alongside former MVPs Yolanda Griffith and Tina Charles, Reese is one of only three players to average a double-double in each of her first two seasons.

Reese will also enter the season poised to become the fastest player in league history to reach 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds. If she maintains her double-double pace through 2026, Reese would be on track to become the only player to have three double-double seasons in both the collegiate and WNBA ranks, a feat that would further cement her place among the greatest of all time.
