This is what the teams fear when their players tire it for their country of origin.
Washington wizards striker Bilal Coulibaly underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb, which he suffered by playing for France in Eurobasket. The recovery of surgery will probably have a Coulibalie for the start of the regular season.
The Guard / Attaler Bilal Coulibaly Wizards have undergone surgical procedure today in New York to repair a law tight in his right thumb. The injury was suffered during the Fiba Eurobasket game with the French national team.

Coulibaly is not the only wizard to have been injured for France in Eurobasket, the Alex Sarr center also had to leave the tournament after having injured his calf. France, the winners of the silver medal barely a few years ago at the Paris Olympic Games, was eliminated from Eurobasket after an upset defeat against Georgia in the round of 16.
Coulibaly is part of a young nucleus with a potential in Washington, and last season, he collected on average 12.3 points and five rebounds per game. Although he brings a certain defense and a game creation at the table, Coulibaly must be a more effective shooter to really make a brand – he pulled only 28.1% of 3 for Wizards last season, and that does not seem to improve during the summer because it was 3 out of 14 beyond the EUROBASKET arc.
The missing training camp and the start of the season are not ideal for a young developing player, but once in good health and capable of returning to court, Coulibaly will have a lot of race and opportunities while Wizards will try to develop their young core.
