Our injury problems have existed all season so it’s not anything new, but with Aston Oxborough having a hand injury and being sidelined and the first game of our new first choice goalkeeper we saw conceded three goals, it’s not a good start to boost. trust…
I said before this season, I was waiting for the inevitable downward spiral to happen and if this weekend’s performance is anything to go by, we could slide headfirst down the table if this continues.
Playing St Johnstone two weekends in a row is far from ideal, but these are the cup draws for you.
I don’t want us to win both, but at this stage of the season I don’t know what the best way to win is.
If we won the Scottish Cup game to set up another visit to Hampden it would be revolutionary or win the Championship game as points are what matters most rather than an inevitable final against Celtic where we would lose if we could we get this far?
I don’t want to be cynical, but it’s not the reaction I expected from a team of players who have shown, despite injuries, that we can still play well and put in good performances. The show at Easter Road was a slap in the face.
I hope the team makes me eat my words and we win both games against St Johnstone and this goalkeeper can be the next Ballon D’or contender, but I won’t hold my breath…
