Caitlin Clark and the United States women’s basketball team hope to find some rhythm when they return to the court against Italy on Saturday (5 p.m. ET, truTV) in the FIBA World Cup qualifying tournament in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The United States is 2-0 in the tournament, but the offense lacked fluidity against a zone defense against host Puerto Rico.

“A lot of it was self-inflicted,” said Clark, who is playing competitive basketball for the first time since July with the Indiana Fever. “I think we missed some defensive coverages. With our fouling a lot as well, it definitely limited us in transition. We want to play fast, and it’s hard to attack, especially on a successful free throw.”
Paige Bueckers, Chelsea Gray, Kelsey Plum, Monique Billings and Kiki Iriafen started Thursday. Gray was the only player to start both nights as coach Kara Lawson experimented with different lineups. There will likely be a new starting five on Saturday.
What time is Team USA women’s basketball against Italy?
