Welcome to BamaCentral’s “Just a Minute,” a daily video series featuring BamaCentral’s Alabama beat writers. Three times a week, writers will group together to give their take on a topic affecting the Crimson Tide or the college sports landscape.

Watch the video above as BamaCentral editors Blake Byler and Katie Windham discuss the Crimson Tide’s NCAA Tournament draw as a 4 seed in the Spokane region and whether the he team may or may not make a deep run in this year’s Big Dance. Alabama will open the tournament with a game against 13th seed Charleston on Friday at 6:35 p.m. CT.

Blake Byler: Blake Byler is a staff writer for BamaCentral and primarily covers Alabama basketball and football. He has covered a wide variety of Crimson Tide sports since 2021, including golf, softball, baseball, and more. He served as sports editor of The Crimson White while in school and began writing full-time for BamaCentral in 2023 after graduating from the University of Alabama.

Katie Windham: Katie Windham is an associate editor for BamaCentral, which primarily covers football, basketball, gymnastics and softball. She is a two-time graduate of the University of Alabama and has covered various Crimson Tide sports since 2019 for outlets like The Tuscaloosa News, The Crimson White and Associated Press before joining BamaCentral full-time in 2021. Windham covered the college football. Playoff games, Women’s College World Series, NCAA March Madness and SEC tournaments and championships in multiple sports.
