UConn (11-0 Big East, 21-1 overall) has a 17-game winning streak that is the third longest in program history with Quad 1 victories over BYU (in Boston), Illinois (in New York), Kansas (at Allen Fieldhouse) and Florida (in New York). St. John’s (9-1 Big East, 16-5 overall) is on a seven-game winning streak in which head coach Rick Pitino joined Mike Krzyzewski, Jim Boeheim And Roy Williams as the fourth coach with 900 men’s wins in Division 1. The Red Storm started Big East play at 9-1 for the second straight season for the first time since 1998-99.
