Week 14 Fantasy Football Sleepers: Play Matches With These Underrated Options

We looked at Week 13 as the time to play hits, not sleepers – every NFL team played a game last week. And as expected, the dormant page had modest returns. At least we can say that players like Colston Loveland, Devin Neal, and Brenton Strange have continued to show that they belong on fantasy teams. Continue to strengthen your list.

Let’s see what unpolished gems might await us in week 14.

WR Isaac TeSlaa vs. Cowboys (9%)

Amon-Ra St. Brown’s status is key here – if he can somehow play on Thursday, TeSlaa will lose his fantasy juice. But when TeSlaa was asked to play, he jumped: he has 100 yards and three touchdowns on just 11 targets. He was also a star during the preseason.

WR Adonai Mitchell vs. Dolphins (21%)

Mitchell’s game goes down the field and gobbles up air yards, so he will always be a very volatile player. But the Jets likely scored a steal when they traded for Mitchell, a second-round pick who is just 23 years old. After a 12-target game and a nice 8-102-1 comeback, Mitchell needs to be saved from the waiver wire, even if you just block him from your opponents.

RB Chris Rodriguez Jr. at Vikings (34%)

This isn’t a cap game, as Rodriguez is basically a zero in the passing game and he’s tied to a run-of-the-mill offense. But he threw touchdowns in 4 of 6 starts and had 44 carries in four weeks. Anyone with such a consistent role will have fantastic value. Minnesota presented an average game.

TE Darren Waller at Jets (35%)

His return was helpful for a fantastic TE (2-47-0) and while you don’t need Waller at the position, consider the upcoming schedule. Pittsburgh (Week 15) and Cincinnati (Week 16) have been horrible with seam coverage all year, and Waller turned his 12 catches into four touchdowns – he’s still dynamic in the red zone.

WR Devaughn Vele at Buccaneers (7%)

He worked into the mix in New Orleans, scoring 15 goals in two weeks and posting an 8-93-1 line in Miami. The Saints use a concentrated target tree and play at a faster pace than most offenses, so there might be more juice here than is immediately apparent. Tampa Bay is also a passing funnel defense, which pushes Vele to be considered a sleeper.

QB Marcus Mariota at Vikings (10%)

Here’s another pick in case of injury, as it’s possible Jayden Daniels returns this week. But if he doesn’t, you have to keep in mind that Mariota has been effective for three straight weeks (QB3, QB9, QB13) and is now working with Terry McLaurin. Mariota could be someone’s QB next year.

TE Colby Parkinson for the Cardinals (2%)

Touchdown equity is usually the selling point for a sleeper tight end, and Parkinson checks that box — he’s scored three times in four games and had 14 catches in four weeks. With Tyler Higbee (ankle) unavailable, Parkinson became the third throw in Los Angeles’ passing game. Arizona also presents a positive match.
