In the movie “King Richard”, the Spanish player was shown taking a bathroom break at 3-1. However, according to the rules of tennis, a player cannot leave the court during odd-numbered matches. Taking this point into consideration, the former world number 1 affirmed that the film misrepresented her.

Additionally, another point of conflict arose when Vicario noticed how long she was taking during the bathroom break according to the film. In the film, Vicario would be shown to have taken a long bathroom break. However, according to the rules of tennis, a player is penalized if he stays in the toilet longer than the allotted time.
