A’Ja WilsonThe historic season continues to reach new heights.

A week later She set the WNBA single-season points scoring record — however short it may be — Wilson became the first player to reach 1,000 points in a WNBA season.

Bam! The record was set on a night when Wilson scored 29 points, helping Las Vegas to an important victory over the The Connecticut Sun.

I’m still writing HIS story ️

With two games remaining in the regular season, A’ja Wilson scored her 1,000th PT of the year, becoming the first player in league history to score 1,000 points in a single season.

The record was made possible by the WNBA’s expanded schedule, which went from 34 to 40 games a season ago. However, that’s not why Wilson now holds the record for most points in a season: Diana Taurasi Previously, Wilson had a total of 860 points, but after 34 games this season, he has totaled 929 points.

Wilson is clearly the best player in the league and on track for a third MVP award. Wilson entered the game leading the WNBA in scoring (27 points per game) and is second in rebounding (at 11 points). Angel Reese) with 12.1 rebounds per game. During the season, she took a break to lead Team USA to the gold medal at the Paris Olympics, averaging 18.7 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, both of which led Team USA.
