Argentina dominated the first half of this match but failed to score until Julian Alvarez scored in the 49th minute, then Lautaro Martinez added his second goal two minutes from time to seal the victory. Lionel Messi had several great chances to score but failed to convert them, missing some and seeing Maxime Crépeau push them away.
Reflecting their overall dominance in this match, Argentina finished with a 3.02 to 1.16 advantage in expected goals.
