Vegas Golden KnightsAmerican Professional ice hockey team based in the Las Vegas area that plays in the west Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). The team won a conference title in its inaugural season (2018) and again in 2023, when the Golden Knights also captured its first Stanley Cup title.
The Golden Knights were born as an expansion team following a vote by NHL owners in June 2016. A year later, the list of Golden Knights was reunited with a project of unprotected players on other NHL teams, and Vegas began to play during the 2017-2018 season. The expectations were weak for the Golden Knights entering the season, despite the franchise with a renowned expansion draft (especially goalkeeper and triple triple Stanley Cup winner Marc-André Fleury). But the team shocked the most optimistic Observers by publishing the fifth best NHL record and winning a division title during the regular season. Vegas then dominated the western conference qualifiers, losing only three games on the way to win a conference championship and win a place in the Stanley Cup final. Although the odds have placed the chances of a Golden Knights championship at 500 to 1 at the start of the season, the team amazed the Washington Capitals With a victory of 6 to 4 in the final of the final. Fleury was unable to measure the capital after this performance, and the Knights lost the final in five games. Vegas returned to the playoffs in 2018-2019, but the team was beaten in the first round of the playoffs.
The franchise continued its solid game in the following two seasons, which were both shortened because of the COVVI-19 pandemic. In 2019-2020, Vegas finished first in its division and qualified for the conference final, where the team lost against the Dallas stars. The following season saw the Knights qualify for the semi -finals of the Stanley Cup – a round in playoffs which was created as part of the various changes to the NHL pandemic – but Vegas was defeated by the Montreal Canadians. In 2021-2022, the Golden Knights missed the playoffs for the first time in the history of the franchise, but the team rebounded in 2022-2023, equaling a team record with 51 victories and winning a division title. Vegas then shaken Victories of three series to qualify for the Stanley Cup final for the second time in six seasons. The Golden Knights then had a dominant series against the Florida panthersWinning the first team championship while collectively surpassing the 26-15 Panthers through the five games played.
