Former Florida head coach Urban Meyer was officially inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday.

Meyer is the 14th Gator and one of 237 coaches to be enshrined in the Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place during 67th Annual NFF Awards Dinner.

“I am very humbled by the mentors I had growing up and overall the people who have followed our path, our journey,” Meyere said. “I grew up in the era of Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler. I worked for a guy named Earl Bruce, Sonny Lubick and Bob Davie. And so when I look at these young coaches coming up, I try to mentor them the same way I was mentored.”

Meyer coached the Gators from 2005-2010, finishing his tenure with a 65-15 record (36-16 vs. SEC). He won two national championships in 2006 and 2008, two SEC championships and three East Division titles with Florida. His players have received 57 All-America nominations and 113 All-SEC honors. Perhaps the most notable player of the Meyer era is none other than legendary Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who won the Heisman Trophy in 2007.

Meyer’s full remarks, along with those of fellow inductee Nick Saban, can be found below or by using this link.
