Week 2 of INVIVEED is here after a historic opening week.
THE the unparalleled debut was fantastic. There were plenty of incredible moments during the league’s inaugural weekend, including epic Skylar Diggins-Smith shots – twice. It was also really cool to see teams separated from the pack.
The Moon Owls had the entire league noticed as championship contendersand several other squads like vinyl and laces are also in the mix. This got us thinking: what other storylines should we look at in Week 2?
Here are a few things to know ahead of this week’s slate of games, including what’s next for Angel Reese.
The development of Angel Reese in a
It’s not uncommon for WNBA athletes to use other leagues or coaches to improve themselves during the offseason, and that’s what’s happening with second-year player Angel Reese.
Of course, Reese has been in Miami, playing with Rose BC of Invalided. During her time there, she connected with other WNBA players, including Kahleah Copper, Napheesa Collier and Lisa Leslie, to focus on things like shot selection and finishing better around the rim.
This is something to watch as the season progresses because Reese is all in on improvement. Here’s what Copper recently said About working with Reese:
“It’s been great… on the pitch, it’s been great. You know, seeing it in the field and really wanting to learn. You know, it’s a lot of young players that are like, “I want to learn from the big guys. I want to learn. And you get with them, and they don’t want to listen or they want to do what they want to do.
But no. She communicates. She really wants to learn…and I see her – her growth every day. So, respectfully, I have a lot of respect for her on the field and how she wants to grow. »
This unrivaled team takes its first victory
The Phantom, Mist and Rose basketball clubs are in trouble. Phantom can’t find his stride, Mist struggles to finish matches, and Rose is cooking defensively.
After a week of action, all three teams are winless. (Yes, zero wins.) It’s disheartening to see, given the level of talent on each roster, and someone – everyone – has to come together.
Napheesa Collier is second to none
It’s very fitting that Napheesa Collier, one of the co-founders of Unmatched, is, well, Unmatched on the league court.
Phee has been on a Scorched Earth tear since the 2024 WNBA season, and it was revealed up a notch during the WNBA Finals. Since arriving in Miami, she has always reversed everyone, averaging 29 points, 8.5 rebounds and a little more than one game shot.
WHAT?! Excuse me, Napheesa Collier?! Sending thoughts and prayers to anyone lining up against Phee. May the odds be in your favor.
