Tottenham Hotspur looking to bounce back a shock defeat against Crystal Palace when they assume Villa Aston in the Premier League this afternoon.
Spurs lost 1-0 at Selhurst Park a week ago but responded with a 2-1 victory against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup. Ange Postecoglou Hopefully the victory will give his team some momentum as they look to move higher up the table and challenge for the top four spots.
The villa already occupies one of these places. They arrive this weekend fourth in the standings, tied on points with Arsenal. Although it is too early to qualify the title challengers, a victory over top six opponents, such as Tottenham, will take them one step closer to the trophy. Unai Emerymen haven’t lost in the league since a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal in August, a series of seven matches which allows them to stay in contact with the top of the ranking.

Tottenham Hotspur host Villa Aston on Sunday, with both teams aiming for next season’s Champions League – but the visitors are definitely coming out on top once again this season so far.
Spurs have been extremely unpredictable, impressive in attack and diabolical at the back, sometimes 50/50 rather than even match to match. They are in eighth place, with as many wins as losses so far. Premier Leagueand the five-point gap to Villa in fourth shows they are already behind.
However, midweek win against Man City will boost confidencealthough this happened in the League Cup, while Villa themselves sit top of the Champions League table with three wins from three and are once again holding their own at domestic level.
However, they were beaten 2-1 at home by Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup, meaning it is just two wins from the last five in all competitions.
