Another day, another pitcher off the market. The Rangers made a move to strengthen their rotation by acquiring MacKenzie Gore from the Nationals for a total of five prospects, including their 12th overall pick in the most recent draft, Gavin Fien. With him and Freddy Peralta both being traded in recent days, the rookie market is quickly dwindling. The Yankees probably weren’t going to get either of these guys based on the level of prospects they got back, but they could probably use an extra quality arm as insurance for all of their starters returning from serious injuries – we’ll have to see if they find anything before all options are gone.
On today’s site we have a few things to help us get through the day. Sam begins with a birthday message for Johnny Sturm, whose career began on a mountaintop but ended there thanks to World War II, then Jeremy relives the shock of Roger Clemens coming out of retirement to join the 2007 Yankees at the age of 44. Later, I will come back to answer your questions in our last mail.

Questions/Prompts:
1. How crazy will the Juan Soto trade tree look when all is said and done now that the Gore trade has been added to it?
2. Which pitcher left on the market would you like the Yankees to target, price aside?
