THE Ducks Anaheim continued their five -game house by hosting the New York Rangers Friday evening at the Honda Center. The Ducks potentially came their most complete performance of the 2024-25 season on Wednesday with a 6-2 victory on the Boston Bruins And try to return to the .500 brand for the first time since March 9.
The Rangers entered after losing four of their last five and just a point in the last place of the Joker in the image of the eliminatory series of the Eastern Conference.
Ducks head coach Greg Cronin opted for an alignment identical to the one who earned his club his last victory against Boston.
Lukas Dostal started between the pipes for the Ducks and saved 26 of the 30 shots.
Dostal was opposed by Igor Shesterkin, who stopped 28 of the 33 shots.
Jacob Trouba left the match with 14:44 to play in the third period after crushing in the end boards after a rush chance. He did not return and Cronin had no update on his status after the match.
“We had lost Trouba, so we were down one of our main killers (penalty),” said Cronin after the match. “We did a good job by managing the staff and, once again, we obtained a digital disadvantage goal for the second consecutive night. So, a lot of positive things with special teams. ”
Here are my notes of this game:
Leo Carlsson-Carlsson has arrived completely. He dictates games like his skills and his potential suggested when he was drafted second in the general classification at the NHL draft in 2023, and he did it on both sides of the washer. It translates its anticipation skills and its digitization capacity to a manufacturing offense up to 200 feet of the opposing net.
“His goal, he just torn the middle and broke it from 35 feet,” said Cronin. “When he does not wear the washer, he also leads the inner ice, which gives him puck recovery in the offensive area.”
There are still areas of his game that will need a little refinement. He could still win a higher percentage of battles from the board of directors, which should come with additional experience and physical growth. The key to unlocking the power game unit on which it is to find ways to put the washer on its stick and, in doing so, to remove the defenders from the position. It is far too dynamic to simply maintain a stationary position in the bumper.
Radko Gudas– It was not one of the best performances of Gudas on the Blueline for the Ducks. The underlying figures suggest that he had a positive impact (51.88 XGF%) and 5:24 of his 20:44 You were devoted to the penalty, a killing that stifled six of the seven chances of New York.
He continues to withdraw from the games in attempts to make big success in open ice. New York’s second goal was the result of unhappy reading of its crossroads and excessive over -finging at the front by leading the midfielder.
His late penalty almost turned out to be expensive. However, it did well to jump from the box and go to the net after the entrance, to collapse the defensive structure and to open a path which was operated by Pavel Mintyukov, which found an Olen Zellweger.
Cutter Gauthier-Gauthier is the most improved Ducks player since the start of the season. He took the time and had the opportunity to refine and learn the details it will take to succeed in him at the NHL level.
He seeks to draw shooting tracks and adapted his angles in order to obtain enough space for his elite release. He recognizes and anticipates when to move his feet through the neutral with and without the washer to optimize his speed and enter dangerously into the offensive zone.
The Ducks will return to the Honda Center on Sunday to face the visit Maple Leafs of Toronto at 5 p.m. pst.
