TJD reveals Draymond’s message to sagging Warriors after grim loss originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area
To put it lightly, things aren’t looking good for the Warriors at the moment.
Coach Steve Kerr called him a “crisis of confidence” after another discouraging 114-98 loss Tuesday against the Miami Heat.
Forward Draymond Green also provided deep reflection on Golden State’s struggles, as his teammate Trayce Jackson-Davis revealed after the match.
After being asked about the Warriors’ recent struggles since their strong 12-3 start, Jackson-Davis shared what has gone wrong over the last month and a half.
“When the shots fall, everything is fine. Everything is fine,” Jackson-Davis told reporters. “But we cannot be a precursor.
“We have to get our soul back. That’s what Draymond said: It’s our soul that we lost, and we lost our spirit. We have to get it back. We have to play hard basketball. We have to play with confidence …I think if we do this, we will find our way back.
Like Kerr, Green’s self-assessment of the Warriors’ crisis has no simple, superficial solution. Instead, the team’s problems appear to run deeper, as if their championship-caliber identity has been compromised.
So, as Golden State goes for a four-game Midwest road trip Over the next week, the team will have a lot to think about to get back to winning ways.
Hopefully this soul and spirit is not lost forever.
