Tiger Woods is the host of this week’s show Genesis Invitational at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, California.
After his Pro-Am round with Bills quarterback Josh Allen on Wednesday, he spent more than 20 minutes on the podium talking about a wide variety of topics. One of these topics was the develop negotiations with the Saudi PIF and the potential for unity in the sport of golf.
“We are looking at all the different return journey models. What that looks like, what the impact is for the players who stayed and didn’t leave and how we improve our product going forward, there’s no answer to that question at the moment,” he said. Woods said.
“Trust me, we get emails daily and weekly and discuss this topic and what it will look like for our upcoming tour. »

The possibility of LIV tour members returning has been a topic of discussion among fans and players.
Justin Thomas said publicly, his belief that there must be some form of retribution for the players who left for LIV.
Jordan Spieth then made it known that he does not believe that an agreement with the PIF is necessary. This prompted a phone call with Rory McIlroywho vehemently disagreed with Spieth.
The creation of LIV Golf in 2022 has created a divide in the sport of golf. However, on June 6, 2023, the PGA Tour shockingly announced a deal with the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF), LIV’s benefactor.
The news shocked the golf world and even attracted attention the attention of the United States Congress.
However, in recent months, reaching a deal appears to have encountered obstacles.
Meanwhile, the PGA Tour enters into partnership with SSG (Strategic Sports Group), which will inject up to $3 billion into the new for-profit entity, PGA Tour Enterprises.
Many therefore wonder if the Tour still needs Saudi money. There are naturally tons of unanswered questions, and Woods attempted to provide insight without making any bold claims.
But as the schism in golf continues, fans and media alike wonder what the future of the sport will look like.
