Their paths to the Western Conference semifinals have been distinct, but familiar foes are set to clash in the second round of the NBA playoffs as the No. 1 Thunder meet the No. 5 Mavericks.

After clinching first place in the Western Conference on the final day of the regular season, Oklahoma City completed its opening round by sweeping New Orleans in four games. MVP candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander averaged 27.2 points, while sensation Jalen Williams scored 21.3 points per game.

Chet Holmgren, meanwhile, filled up the stat sheet, averaging 15.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game.

Dallas ousted a veteran Clippers team in six games, finishing the series with a triumphant 114-101 victory in game six. The Mavericks stymied Los Angeles with suffocating defense, holding the Clippers below 100 points in three of six games.

Luka Doncic (29.8 points, 8.8 rebounds, 9.5 assists) and Kyrie Irving (26.5 points) demonstrated their exceptional playing ability, with Irving dazzling in a 30-point performance to close out the Clippers.

The teams met four times during the regular season, with Oklahoma City winning three of those meetings.

Here’s everything you need to know to watch the series.
