Everything was fine for Jordan Spieth, which made it inevitable what happened to the sixth Friday hole.
Spieth was 5 under his second round of the Valspar championship, 2 under the tournament and three in advance. It was an impressive rebound after opening its doors in 3 against 74 Thursday.
Tour 2, however, finished on a sour note while Spieth made a double bogey on the sixth par-4, his 15th day hole. His TEE shot fled to the right and it took him two swings to bring his ball closer to the green. From the raw necklace, he could not get up and down, not covering a 5 feet for Bogey.
Spieth then bogey his last hole, the ninth par-4, despite finding the fairway. He settled for a 2-sous 69 to sit at 1 on the peer, on the cutting line provided when he signed his card.
Justin Thomas, who played alongside Spieth for the first two laps, also transpired the 1 cut line, after turns of 73-70.
