International tennis renown temple Member Pam Shriver brings her trophies back, finding the dozen equipment that was in a car stolen from the hotel where she stayed after having evacuated from her home during the spread of Devastating forest fires In the Grand Los Angeles region.

“It was an interesting chapter. I want the trophies to be able to speak, “said Shriver during a telephone interview on Friday. “I would have liked to know where they were.”

Shriver won 21 Double Grand Chelem Championships – all except one alongside Martina Navratilova – a gold medal at the 1984 summer Olympic Games and a total of 111 double titles. Shriver, now a commentator and television coach, was inducted into the sports hall in 2002.

Like so many other residents of Los Angeles, Shriver left his house as part of a compulsory evacuation as fires spread. In the end, she said, her house was fine.

But while she was staying in a hotel, a car that contained some of her personal effects, including family photos dating back decades, was taken. The car has still not been recovered, said Shriver, but the trophies were deposited in boxes placed outside the hotel about 10 days later, and it finally recovered them this week.

“The trophies were buried at the back of the car. You couldn’t look in the window and see them, ”she said. “I don’t think they were good for people who took the car. So they ended up returning them. »»

Shriver heard the good news for the first time via a telephone call from the hotel director. A detective picked up the trophies the next day for the fingerprints, said Shriver.

“Then the trophies were released to me,” she said. “I regained guard.”

Transport has included its five trophies for winning the event of feminine double open women – in 1983, 1984, 1986, 1987 and 1991 – plus a bowl that she received from the US Tennis Association after being the second second in 1978 at the age of 16 as 16 years as an amateur who, Shriver recalled: “has no money, no trophy, flowers.”

The four French open trophies of the French that she and Navratilova won in 1984, 1985, 1987 and 1988. There was at least another tennis silver trophy, more – shriver linked to a laugh – the reward that ‘She received for having been honored as the most improved golfer at Brentwood Country Club in 2001.
