Europe and Team USA clash once again for the Ryder While visitors seek to win a historic victory outside Notorious Bethpage Black in New York.
Europe is the reigning champions after a brilliant victory in Italy in 2023 which let the United States bubble and desperately take revenge from the ground at home.
There has been only one victory since 2006, but Luke Donald’s team is Determined to repeat heroism of “The Miracle of Medinah” in 2012.
With Rory McILroy and A number of players in goodEurope will face a severe test against World No 1 Scottie Scheffler as well as the warmth of a simmering rivalry.
What is Foursomes?
Two players from each team get married and play alternative shots using the same ball. The lowest score on each hole wins. The hole is divided by two if the scores are equal.
There are four games at four on a session, the first Friday morning and the second Saturday morning.
What is Fourballs?
Two players from each team get married but this time using their own ball. The lowest score of one or the other player is used for the team’s overall score for this hole.

What is the format?
There are 28 points to be won with the winners necessary to reach 14.5 points. Holders (Europe) can defend the Cup by reaching 14 points, with a drawing drawing the conservation of the cup.
The competition lasts three days and the first two days, Friday and Saturday, see the players fighting on fourths (alternative shooting) and the four balls (best ball). The action ends on Sunday with 12 single games.
Each match offers a point, although the point can be reduced by half if the match is tied after 18 holes, which allowed each team to win half a point.

The course: Bethpage Black, New York
Bethpage Black is known as one of the most difficult golf courses in the world. It is one by 71 and extends to an intimidating of 7,426 yards, promoting long strikers on tour.
The players will be welcomed by a panel on the first TEE: “The black course is an extremely difficult course that we recommend only for highly qualified golfers”.
There have been three major championships organized during the course, including most recently the 2019 PGA championship, won by Brooks Koepka, which is competing for in the American team this time.
The configuration of the course is in the hands of the hosts, which means that the United States can adjust the conditions according to its players. That said, the talents and characteristics of Team Europe are largely similar to the American team, which means fewer advantages this time.
Players can expect narrower fairways and deep harsh, promoting players who can wear the ball away. The 15th hole is notoriously difficult and known as “the beast”.
