A long and exhausting road trip for Florida panthers will finally end on Saturday in Washington DC
Despite the average of less than two goals per game, the panthers have won a few victories so far and can end the trip with an equal record of 0,500 if they can take care of the cases against Washington capital.
It will not be an easy task.
Washington has led the Eastern Conference in everywhere, currently holding a 12 -point advantage in second place Carolina in the metropolitan division and 13 points at Florida time, which heads the Atlantic division.
Capitals are also playing very good hockey this month.
They are currently riding on an 8-1-0 section, their last victory winning the Place des Caps in the STANLEY Cup qualifiers.
Even with all the success, a large part of this season was on the star striker Alex Ovechkin while he continues the story.
Entering the game on Saturday, Ovechkin has 888 career goals. He only needs seven others to break the record for marking of all time of Wayne Gretzky of 894.
Here is a funny fact: there is only one active goalkeeper of the NHL who granted more goals to Ovechkin than Sergei Bobrovsky.
Marc-André Fleury was noted by Ovie 28 times, the most of all goalkeepers, active or retired.
Bobrovsky saw Ovechkin score 16 times on him.
Florida’s safeguard goalkeeper Vanecek has never been marked by Ovechkin, at least not in a NHL match.
The two were teammates for a few seasons in Washington, but the practice objectives do not count for this historic total.
Florida should not have programming changes compared to Thursday’s victory in Columbus.
