The antitrust showdown between 23XI Racing, Front Row Motorsports and NASCAR is getting uglier by the day as we count down to trial – all thanks to multiple batches of leak internal messages and a growing sense of outrage from fans.
Journalist John Newby has just dropped a bomb on X: the plaintiffs have submitted a 44-page list of exhibits, and what they have there is a much bigger case than anyone expected. Newby says the list includes not one but several different versions of the founding members’ agreement, discussions between the teams that were supposed to remain secret, media rights deals, snapshots from tracks all over the United States, including Five Flags Speedway, and even a story that Jeff Gordon said Hendrick Motorsports hadn’t made a profit in ten years. Also unsealed messages, profit and loss statements and tax returns.

The release of these internal messages really blew things up. The fans are going crazy. Many of them suspect there is something fishy going on with the way NASCAR runs things, and now a grid team is saying so and backing it up.

The list of exhibits gives the impression that the plaintiffs are aiming straight at the heart. They say the way things are set up, NASCAR has way too much power, meaning they decide who can compete, how to do it and who gets the money.

With the trial fast approaching, time is running out until the very last days. Everything indicates that this will be a nasty legal battle that will go to the end. With plenty of evidence to back it up, tension thick enough to ease, and all public eyes on this to reshape the future of stock car racing for years to come.
