The former rugby player in Australia, Jordan Petaia, signed with the NFL The Los Angeles Chargers team.
Petaia, 25, played in 31 tests and in two rugby world cuts for the Wallabies.
He joined the charges as part of the Pathway Player Pathway (PPI) of the NFL after training for 10 weeks at the IMG academy in Florida.
Petaia turned his attention to American football after completing his rugby career in December after six years for Queensland’s Reds in Super Rugby.
The charges said that he would now work with the tight end coach and the coordinator of the race game Andy Bischoff alongside the other tight ends of the team.
