The first spring training of Aaron Judge overshadowed by the implosion of the ninth round during the defeat of 8-7 of the Yankees against Phillies

THE Yankees Souffled a seven-point lead in the summit of the ninth round and lost against the Philadelphia Phillies, 8-7, Saturday afternoon.

Here are take -out dishes …

-The fights for a list place and having done so far, RHP Cam Schlittler took the ball for New York during its fifth and last appearance of the spring and left on a high note after having made four sleeves aimlessly while abandoning only three strokes, a walk and withdrawing two on 57 throws (36 strikes). He relied on a lot of bullets on the ground and induced two double games to help him go out.

Aside from a difficult departure, the 24-year-old launched very well for the Yanks during the camp as an invitation notoster after a solid season of minor leagues in 2024 during which he launched for the three levels, totaling an MPM of 3.36 in more than 120.2 rounds.

While Schlittler will probably start the season with minors to continue improving his year of escape which included an MPM of 2.60 in 17 simple departures, New York must be satisfied with the way in which his right -hander played in his first taste of Big League Camp. And with so many injuries to pitching staff already, Schlittler could just be a telephone call far from making his debut at the MLB at one point this season.

-Sise a ton of sure, the offensive of the Yankees was able to go to seven points, led by a fourth round of four points. Before that, however, Aaron judge Broken a two -point home run during the third round for its first training circuit in the spring this season. The triple MVP did not have its best camp, reaching .138 (4 for 29), so it was good to see it connect with one and leave the courtyard before the start of the regular season. The judge finished 1 for 3 with three products produced and a removal of the stick as DH.

-New Nother of York in the fourth was mainly due to a bad pitch from Philadelphia which walked three in the round and struck another. However, Jasson Dominguez had a simple RBI in the frame to maintain its solid spring to the plate and JC EscarraA candidate to be the backup receiver, also had a sure blow.

Esmarra really impressed in the camp, reaching 0.333 with three circuits, eight products produced, seven points scored to accompany a .936 OPS. All this after the 29 -year -old reduced .302 / .403 / .527 in 52 games in triple -a in 2024 – his first season of return to minors since 2021.

-The enclosure of yankees, including Mark Leiter Jr. (1 IP, 3 ks), Geoff Hartlieb (1 IP, 1 h, 1 bb, 2 ks), Colten Brewer (1 IP, 1 h, 1 baby, 1 k) and Rob Zastryzny (1 IP, 1 h, 1 bb, 1 k), was bright. It is before Eric Reyzelman came for the ninth round that seeks to slam the door of an advance of 7-0. Instead, the right -hander granted five points deserved on four strokes and a walk before being pulled to Leonardo Pestana.

New York’s advance was shaved at two points, Pestana was also able to seal the agreement, abandoning a three -point bomb that pulled the phillies all the way back and in front for the first time all day.

The Yanks had the linked and won runners on the base in the lower half of the English Channel, but came empty.
