PSG expressed its interest in Dean Huijsen in the summer of 2024 as part of an effort to strengthen their defense. However, the Spanish central center finally signed with AFC Bournemouth.
Huijsen was still quite new to Bournemouth at the time, and it was not until the 2024-25 season that he really pierced and became a recognizable name in the Premier League.
Looking back, refusing a movement to PSG seems to have paid. A year later, the defender had the chance to sign for his dream club, Real Madrid. Huijsen finally joined Real Madrid in an agreement worth 58 million euros.

The agent of Huijsen, Ali Barat, recently revealed that the defender refused a move to PSGBelieving that he would have better opportunities to play time in Bournemouth.
“Dean Huijsen was considered a promising option to PSG in 2024. He thought he would have more opportunities to play Bournemouth regularly compared to PSG“Said Barat (H / T RMC Sport).
By discussing the Real Madrid movement, Barat – which recently compared Huijsen to the German legend Franz Beckenbauer – said that the club was clear and frank on their intentions.
“When Real Madrid joined the race to sign it, they showed it a solid conviction and presented a project that aligns its development perfectly. For it, Real Madrid represents the good vision of its future,” added Barat.
