The 5 best boys in Richland County Tennis players in 2025

LEXINGTON – When you have freshly released a sixth consecutive league championship and a 17th since 2004, expectations could not be higher for your program.

This is what the lexington coach Ron Schaub takes care of year by year and yet he produces unrivaled tennis talents in the county of Richland and sometimes (OK, most of the time), beyond.

With the talent that the Lexington minutemen have returned, it is not surprising that they take four of the first 5 places of the best tennis players of the Boys of Richland County in 2025. They bring children with a lot of experience in the playoffs and almost all have never lost a cardinal conference match of Ohio.

And we have state gold lying around his neck.

Let’s take a look at the tennis talents on which we should all watch in 2025 with this edition of Jake’s List.

5. Matt Bayes, Ontario

Bayes joined Alex Ellis of the time, as a double team from the Division II district, when they abandoned their opening match of the tournament. However, Bayes acquired precious experience during the 2024 season which he can then take in 2025 and lead the Warriors to special things from the Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference and beyond.

4. Tony Palmer, Lexington

Palmer is going to be a name that many will learn this season. Junior, Palmer has a lot of experience in the game in tournaments as accustomed to the tennis tournament of the nine decades newspaper and played a possible champion very well (which also came from Lexington). He will have a lot of chance of presenting his skills after the Owan Gongwer state qualifier has decided not to play his last senior year. Palmer will flourish.

3. Philip Etzel, Lexington

As a first year, Etzel was a qualifier of Division II district in simple and even won a match during the district tournament before falling in the quarterfinals. Back for his second season, Etzel will play an even more important role in 2025 and could see some success in double if he could separate from a team.

2. Cooper Remy, Lexington

Remy was a state qualifier in division II in the second year, which simply talks about the talent of this young man. He abandoned his first game in State, but winning this experience will be incredibly precious for him in 2025. He could team up with another leading player to form a double team capable of competing for a state title when the playoffs arrive. Remy was the finalist in the District of Division II dominating his way to the final.

1. Dylan Catanse, Lexington

It is not every day that you can welcome a champion of state to your team, but the lexington head coach, Ron Schaub, has this luxury in 2025. Last year, Catanese joined Ethan Remy to win the state championship of double division II, as a cruise in the final, 6-2, 7-5. Catanese will have to find a new teammate in 2025 if he hopes to end his career with two state championships and that he could find one in the same family of last year. Catania was a Division II district and a section champion in double competitions.
