This the transfer portal is wild and unpredictable. It can be almost impossible to keep up with the balls flying, especially since the spring-loaded gate has been removed. About 16% of FBS and FCS roster players in 2025 are currently in the transfer portal, according to Tracking Football and SportSource Analytics.
It can be difficult to keep up and this is expected to be the busiest portal cycle of Sarkisian’s tenure in Austin. I thought I would do a daily overview of all the rumors, visits, engagements and everything that is happening around the Longhorns throughout the next 14 days.

It was a remarkably busy first day for Steve Sarkisian and his team, that’s for sure. Let’s take this player by player to make things easier:
Cam Coleman – Auburn WR
Coleman is the gem of the transfer portal class today and it appears he is in Austin as I write this. The former Auburn WR is drawing interest from a number of schools, but it appears Texas A&M and Alabama are the Longhorns’ best competition. He’s scheduled a visit for both, but Sarkisian’s goal is for Cam Coleman to not make it either. If Texas locks it down, expect it to be within the next 24-48 hours.
Isaac Brown – Louisville RB
Another player Texas appears to be in a situation ideal place for the RB starIsaac Brown. He was projected to Texas by the 247Sports team and is also rumored to be in Austin this weekend. It appears that Miami, his hometown team, would be the Longhorns’ biggest competition, but the Longhorns appear to be in a strong position with Brown and a commitment could come very soon.
Michigan offensive linemen
The Longhorns have begun their search for offensive linemen, and it appears Sarkisian liked what he saw on the other side of the field. Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarnera, both All-B1G selections this season seem to be catching the attention of the Longhorns. Missouri is the other school to watch for Sprague, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Guarnera entered the portal with a no-contact tag, which simply means he and his representation will reach out to schools rather than the other way around. It appears Texas is interested in both, something that would not only bring improvements internally, but also built-in cohesion between the two.
If Texas can land this pair of trench players, it’s fair to say that Texas will see a much-improved OL in 2026. That being said, don’t expect that to be the case for Texas right out of the gate.
Ian Geffrard – DT Arkansas
Texas will have Geffrard on campus today and also appears to be the team setting the tone in this recruiting. Geffrard is 6’5″, 380+ pounds, a true mountain of a man and someone Will Muschamp would love to have anchoring his defense. Cole Brevard is off to the NFL, so adding a big NT wouldn’t be a surprise. It also wouldn’t be a surprise if Texas made that commitment this weekend, despite interest from Auburn, SMU and Kentucky.
Jayden Woods – Florida EDGE
He’s another player who may be on DKR as you read this. Woods put together a great freshman season for the Gators, including 2.5 sacks, 5 TFLs, and an INT. He earned Freshman All-SEC honors this season and would be a great addition to an already talented running back room. It would not only provide depth, but also remarkable potential beyond 2026 alone. Texas seems to be the clear leader here, so I would watch that closely.
Robert Woodyard – Auburn LB
Woodyard would be the perfect replacement for Anthony Hill, but that means there’s a lot of interest in him. According to Matt Zentiz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Woodyard is currently traveling to Kentucky and Missouri next, but is considering a possible visit to Texas. Inside Texas reporter Eric Nahlin predicted that Woodyard would commit to Miami, so this is a recruitment that seems unpredictable. Either way, if Texas manages to get him on campus they will do everything they can to keep him there, it might just be a struggle.
Edwin Joseph – DB Florida State
Another player in Austin currently is redshirt junior safety Edwin Joseph. Joseph really makes a difference on the back end, with 37 tackles and 3 INTs for the Seminoles this season. Georgia, Texas A&M and Mississippi State are the top competition for the Longhorns, according to OnTexasFootball’s Bobby Burton. Texas needs an experienced safety next to McDonald and Joseph fits the bill.

Derek Williams – South Texas
This may seem strange, but Derek Williams Jr., who was reportedly previously reported intending to enter the portalmight tend to stay in Austin after all. This would be another massive retention for a position of need, and Blake Gideon returning to Austin couldn’t have hurt. I would expect a decision on that today or tomorrow at the latest, and it seems like Texas is confident in their ability to keep him.
Gianni Spetic – Memphis
It is well known that the Longhorns need to replace Mason Shipley and Jack Bouwmeester this offseason. It appears Shipley’s hole is likely to be filled soon with Memphis’ Lou Groza semifinalist Gianni Spetic. Spetic went 15/20 this season, including 4/5 over 50 yards. It seems like all signs point to the Longhorns here, so we might write about his commitment this time tomorrow.
That’s enough for today, but there will be many more tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow, and so on. This is going to be a busy time for the Longhorns, which means we need to keep you updated daily. This will be the one-stop shop for news across all portals for the Longhorns as they navigate an insane two weeks. The Longhorns are off to a good start, but the work has only just begun.
