Texas football landed a Huge recruitment victory Sunday, as a four -star secondary in 2027 EPPS Tave announced his commitment to the burned orange. He is the first player to join the Recruitment class of Longhorns in 2027.
EPPS frequent Tastin High School in Tastin, California, and is the second second -ranking second in the 2027 class, according to the composite classification of 247 sports. He made an unofficial visit to Texas on March 28 and holds 32 offers, the USC and the UCLA being the other schools favored by EPPS.

“I come home,” wrote Epps in his commitment post.
EPPS is a native of Texas who moved to California at the age of 13. He grew up in Boyd, 45 minutes north-west of Fort Worth.
“I am from Texas, so it’s always nice when my birthplace of the university shows interest for me”, ” EPPS told Horns247 in September. “The coach of the co-defensive coordinator, Johnny Nansen, led to my high school coach Chris Hawkins at the university, so this is where the connection was established.”
Measuring at 6 feet 4 inches and 225 pounds, EPPS played security in the past before moving on to the second year. Last year, he accumulated 38 plated, 11 Hurries, nine plated for the loss, seven bags, a strap of blocked boot and an interception, which he returned 65 yards for a touchdown in 10 games.
