The Bills won’t have at least a few key defensive players for Sunday’s game against the Jaguars.
Head coach Sean McDermott ruled out linebacker Terrel Bernard (calf), cornerback Maxwell Hariston (ankle) and safety Damar Hamlin (pectoral) for the competition.

Hamlin returns from injured reserve and should have been activated to the 53-man roster to play.
Bernard and Hariston were both absent for practice Wednesday and Thursday.
Although kicker Matt Prater (right quad) did not practice Wednesday, leading to Matthew Wright being signed to the practice squad, he was a full participant Thursday.
“I thought he did some good things yesterday,” McDermott said via Mady Glab on the team’s website. “We will see where and how he develops before the weekend.”
Prater isn’t expected to kick off Friday, but that’s his usual process two days before a game.

Receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) and linebacker Shaq Thompson (neck) are expected to be questionable. Running back Ty Johnson (ankle) did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, but is expected to see the field Friday and the Bills will determine his status from there.
“(We’re) going to take a good look at it today and see how it performs,” McDermott said. “We’ll know more after training.”
Buffalo’s full final injury report will be released later Friday.
